Meta Description Generator
Generate SEO-optimized meta descriptions that drive clicks and rank higher
- Keep descriptions between 150-160 characters for maximum visibility.
- Include your primary keyword in the first half of the description.
- Always include a clear Call to Action (CTA) like "Learn more" or "Shop now".
Draft search-snippet text without starting from zero
A meta description is the short summary that often appears under your page title in search results. Writing one for every page is tedious, and it is easy to run over the length that search engines display. This generator takes a short description of your page and your target keywords, then produces two draft descriptions in the tone you select, each with a character count so you can see at a glance whether it fits.
Using the generator
- In the Page Topic / Content Summary box, describe the page in a phrase or short sentence.
- Enter one or more phrases in Target Keywords, for example SEO, Tools, Analytics. If you leave it empty the text falls back to the words this content.
- Open the Tone menu and choose Professional, Persuasive (Sales), Informative or Curiosity-Driven.
- Click Generate Meta Options.
- Review the two option cards and press Copy Meta on the one you prefer.
Reading the result cards
Each card shows the draft, a counter such as 128 / 160 Characters (turning red when it goes over 160), and a Score badge. The score is a simple length check: 100 when the text is between 140 and 160 characters, 85 when it is shorter, and 70 when it is longer. It says nothing about quality or ranking, only about fit. A short tips panel beneath the results reminds you to keep descriptions near 150 to 160 characters, place the main keyword early and finish with a call to action.
Where this saves time
- Filling in descriptions for a batch of blog posts where you already know the topic and keyword.
- Trying a persuasive version against an informative one for a product page.
- Producing a first draft to hand to a client for edits.
- Checking how long a description you wrote by hand would run once similar wording is used.
Edit before you publish
The drafts are built from templates, and your summary is inserted into the sentence as typed. That means the summary should be written as a phrase that fits after words like Discover how or Learn the essentials of, or the result will read oddly. The persuasive and curiosity tones include emoji and phrases such as ultimate toolkit or hidden secrets, which may not suit your brand. Read each option aloud, trim the wording, and make sure the final description accurately describes the page, since search engines may rewrite descriptions that do not. Generation runs in your browser.
