Ultimate Password Generator
Generate cryptographically strong, unhackable passwords instantly
What is Password Generator?
Our Password Generator creates strong, random passwords of exactly the length and character mix you choose — uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, and symbols. It uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, so each password is genuinely unpredictable rather than merely "looking random."
Generated passwords solve the reuse problem: because a unique 20-character random password for every account is impossible to memorize, people pair a generator with a password manager and never type — or reuse — credentials again.
How to use
- Set the password length with the slider or input — 16 to 20 characters is a solid default for most accounts.
- Toggle the character sets you want included: lowercase, uppercase, digits, and symbols. For sites that reject symbols, turn them off.
- Click generate to produce a fresh password instantly; click again for a different one.
- Copy the result into the site's password field or save it in your password manager — then close the tab, since the password isn't stored anywhere.
Common use cases
- New account signups: a user registering for a bank or email account generates a 20-character mixed password on the spot instead of inventing a weak memorable one.
- Credential rotation after a breach: when a service announces a data leak, a security-conscious user generates fresh unique passwords for that account and every other account that shared the old password.
- Wi-Fi and router credentials: a homeowner setting up a new router generates a long random WPA2 passphrase instead of keeping the factory default printed on the box.
- Developer secrets: a programmer creating an API token, database password, or encryption passphrase for a staging environment needs a random string with a specific length and character set.
FAQs
Are the passwords I generate stored or sent to anyone?
No. Generation happens entirely in your browser using local randomness — nothing is transmitted, logged, or stored. The password exists only in your browser tab; refreshing the page wipes it.
Random or pronounceable — which should I choose?
Truly random passwords are stronger per character because every character is independent and unpredictable. Pronounceable passwords are easier to dictate or type on a phone, but need to be longer for the same security. For anything in a password manager, fully random is the better choice.
How long should my password be?
Length matters more than complexity. A 16-character password drawn from all character sets has far more entropy than an 8-character one with symbols. Aim for at least 16 characters for important accounts; beyond about 20 characters, extra length adds little against any realistic attacker.
Do I need an account or app to use this?
No signup, no install, no account. Open the page, set your options, and generate. For day-to-day use, pair it with a password manager so you only ever need to remember one master password.
