Add Suffix to Lines
Batch add text to the end of each line
Attach the same ending to each line of a list
Many list formats need a consistent ending on every entry: commas between values, semicolons after statements, a unit after each figure, or a status tag on each task. Adding those by hand is slow, and it is easy to miss one. Add Suffix to Lines appends whatever text you specify to the end of every line at once.
Steps
- Paste or type your list into Input Lines, with one item per line. Sample loads three project names and sets a version tag as the suffix, and Clear empties the field.
- Type the ending into the Suffix field. The placeholder shows a bracketed DONE tag.
- Keep Skip empty lines ticked to leave blank lines alone, or untick it to append the suffix to them too.
- Click Add Suffix.
- Look over the Before and After statistics, then choose Copy or .TXT to download suffixed-lines.txt.
How it treats your text
- The suffix is appended exactly as entered, so a leading space in the field creates a gap between the line and the ending.
- Trailing spaces already present on a line are kept, which means the suffix lands after them. Clean those first if you want it to sit tight against the last word.
- Blank and whitespace-only lines are skipped by default.
- An empty suffix returns your text unchanged.
Everyday uses
- Adding a comma to each value before pasting a list into an array, SQL IN clause or JSON file.
- Ending every statement in a batch of commands with a semicolon.
- Appending units such as kg or USD to a column of copied figures.
- Marking finished checklist items with a status tag or an emoji.
- Adding a line-continuation character to lines of a shell script.
Watch for these
The last line receives the suffix as well, so a trailing comma after the final item is a common leftover in code lists; delete it by hand if the target syntax forbids it. To wrap lines in quotes you need both ends: add a quote as a prefix with the companion prefix tool, copy the output back into the input, then add the closing quote and comma here. The summary line reports the total number of lines in the output, including any blank lines that were skipped, so use the result box to see exactly what changed. Processing occurs in your browser page, and the original text stays in the input box for another attempt.
