Profile Drafts
Short profile bios from three simple inputs
Staring at an empty About box is a common problem. The Professional Bio Generator gives you a starting point by combining your role, one headline achievement and a tone of voice into two short draft bios. It is built for the tight spaces where a bio matters most: a LinkedIn headline area, a portfolio header, a speaker listing or a social profile line. The drafts come from fixed sentence templates, not from an AI writer, so think of them as scaffolding you refine.
Creating your drafts
- Type your job title or specialty into Your Role, for example Lead Developer or Community Nurse.
- In Main Achievement, write one concrete accomplishment, such as Scaled apps to 1M users. The Clear button empties the fields if you want to start over.
- Pick a style from Tone of Voice: Corporate and Professional, Creative and Enthusiastic, or Minimalist and Direct.
- Press Generate Profile Bios. Two drafts appear under Profile Drafts.
- Press Copy This Bio beneath the draft you like and paste it into your profile.
What each tone produces
- Corporate and Professional: full sentences about results, leadership and scale, suited to LinkedIn and formal pages.
- Creative and Enthusiastic: exclamation marks, emoji and a more energetic voice for social accounts and creative portfolios.
- Minimalist and Direct: a compact line joined with a bullet or a vertical bar, useful for bios with a strict character limit.
When it helps
- Drafting a first-pass About line for a new LinkedIn profile.
- Writing a one-line bio for a conference programme or podcast guest page.
- Producing several variants to compare before choosing a final wording.
- Filling a freelancer portfolio header while the full case studies are still being written.
Get better results
Only the role is required, but leaving out the achievement will leave a gap in the sentence, so fill it in. Write the achievement as a short phrase without a full stop, because the template adds its own punctuation. Use measurable details where you can, such as a number of users, a percentage or a timeframe, since specifics are what make a bio credible. The minimalist tone uses your achievement in only one of its two drafts, and its second line is fixed wording, so edit it to fit. Always read the final text aloud and adjust it so it sounds like you, because template bios can sound generic if used unchanged.
