Glitch Text Generator
Create digital distortion and cyberpunk styles for your text
Corrupted-looking text in one click
Glitch text imitates a broken screen or a damaged file: characters swapped for numbers, patches of static, letters that seem struck through or doubled. This generator applies five different distortion recipes to whatever you type and shows them all at once so you can pick the mood you like. The output is ordinary text made of common symbols, so it can be pasted into captions, usernames, video titles and chat messages.
How it works in practice
- Enter your words in the Source Text box. A live counter above it shows the character count.
- Use the paste and trash icons to import from the clipboard or clear the field.
- Click Glitch System.
- Five cards appear under Distorted Outputs, each shown in a monospaced typeface.
- Click any card to copy its text. A quick Copied! message replaces the preview for a second.
The five distortions
- Cyberpunk swaps vowels for look-alike numbers: a becomes 4, e becomes 3, i becomes 1, o becomes 0 and u becomes v. This one is consistent every time.
- Static randomly replaces roughly one in five characters with a light shaded block.
- Corrupted adds a combining strike mark to about three in ten characters.
- System Error converts everything to capitals and drops in occasional solid blocks.
- Mirror Glitch randomly repeats some characters with a space in between, like a stuttering screen.
Use cases
- Titles and thumbnails for gaming, hacker or sci-fi themed videos.
- Stylish Twitch, Discord or Steam display names.
- Album, playlist or poster text for an electronic or synthwave project.
- Fake error messages in a short story, ARG or social media joke.
Notes on the randomness
Four of the five styles use random choices, so the same input gives a different result each time you press the button. If you almost like a version, click Glitch System again to reshuffle rather than editing by hand. Very short words can end up with no visible distortion at all, since it is chance-based, and longer phrases give a more convincing effect.
Block characters and combining marks depend on the viewer's font. Some apps render the strike marks unevenly or place them in an odd position, and screen readers may read the blocks aloud as symbols. Also remember that leetspeak makes words harder to read for anyone unfamiliar with it, so use it for effect, not for important information.
